DIY: Easy Easter Cake
Ok, Iβll say it; Motherhood makes you want to do DIY projects. Like, all the time.
With that being said, it doesnβt always mean you have to do everything from scratch, every time.
Hereβs this cute Easter cake I recently made.
Best part, I definitely did not make it from scratch.
Hereβs what I used:
*Strawberry Cake Mix
*Cream Cheese Whipped Frosting
*Milk Chocolate Whipped Frosting
*Rainbow Sprinkles
*Peeps – Pink and Blue
Yup. Just that. Sometimes mommies are just too tired to do anything, but sometimes you also donβt want to buy store cake because it contains so much sugar. At least when you make your own, you can control how much frosting goes into it, etc.
Anywayβ¦. To make theΒ cake, follow instructions on the back of the box. Pillsbury even gives you exact measurements of a healthier alternative to the eggs and oil!
Step 1: Preheat Oven and flour dust your pans.
Step 2: Mix ingredients.
Step 3: Bake. Because I am using one 8 in. and one 9 in., I set the timer somewhere in between to 33 mins.
Step 4: Let cool. I took out the 9 in. at the mark, and left the 8 in. in the oven for another 2 minutes. I let them sit on the counter for a couple hours.
Step 5: Because I used two different size pans, I cut the 9 in. cake to match the 8 in.
Step 6: Frost. I used the milk chocolate for the filling and cream cheese for the outside since I wanted the outside to be a white canvas.
Step 7: Decorate. I used the excess bread from the 9 in. and crumbled it fine in the food processor to spread over the sides of the cake.
And voila! You now have a cute Easter cake.
Hope you enjoyed this DIY Easy Easter Cake.
