It’s our Blog Anniversary Month!

Thank You!

I want to thank everyone who has been supportive of Little Conquest, for reading, engaging and sharing the love, and just being super great all around!

On September 8, 2016, Little Conquest was born. It started as a hobby because while being new at the whole stay at home mommin’ business, I needed something to keep my sanity.

Let me paint you the picture of how Little Conquest came to be.

I’ve always loved writing and had a review blog way before marriage and kids and it was just a hobby as well, that unfortunately faded (but might resurrect in the future 😉 For now, you can find those old posts here).

While I was pregnant with my first, I researched about everything from prenatal care to baby gadgets and after baby CJ was born, I kept on looking things up when they occurred such as, when do babies start teething and how to ease, etc. You get the idea.

So then I decided to start a blog where I share my experiences as not only a new mom but as a stay at home mom. Where learning about and catering to babies is a 24/7 job. In my very first post Stay at Home Mom, I explained my reason for wanting to be a SAHM and how I was able to do so with the support of my husband.

Sure husband supports me being a stay at home mom, but did you know he’s also my IT guy? YES! I hit the jackpot baby! Haha. Other bloggers will understand. When I told him this is what I wanted to do, he said I should do it right and get my own domain. So, he got everything set up and running in no time.

Once I made it look the way I wanted, I published my first post. It took off decently. But then visitor numbers dropped because I wasn’t being as consistent as I should have been. Almost a year went by and we bought our first house and moved cross country! With those things happening and getting settled, then finding out we were expecting #2, I really wasn’t thinking about focusing on the blog. When the end of 2017 approached, I decided I needed to make changes if I wanted to start monetizing.

I decided I wasn’t going to make drastic changes for 2018 because a lot of my time would be consumed by an infant and a toddler. The first change I decided to make was consistency. This meant I would be posting once a week, every week. Prior to the change taking effect, I was posting every now and then, maybe an average of 1-2 posts a month, so it was definitely a change!

Before 2017 ended, I sat down and planned an entire year of post topics. I also got ahead of the game and pre-wrote almost 2 months worth of posts so I wouldn’t be rushing right from the start. Right before baby ED was to arrive, I had scheduled the entire month after so that I wouldn’t have to worry about consistency or just drop from the face of the internets.

I also decided that another change I wanted to make in 2018 was that I would send out newsletters. I did not want to go all out just yet, so I stuck with a monthly version. So far it’s been a success! In the newsletter, I include tips, Netflix recommendations, post updates of what the previous month published and more. Got more things planned to add for next year, so make sure you subscribe to our newsletter! 😉

I’ve worked with great people and great brands and couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunities! As baby ED becomes more independent, I will be able to reach out to more people and brands for collaborations, it’s all so exciting!

So that’s how Little Conquest came to be what it is today and I’m profoundly proud of what we’ve done in the past 2 years.

Thank You for reading and sharing! You are AWESOME!

Sometimes it can be so hard to stay consistent when life gets in the way. It’s so inspiring that you still have a lot going on and still have time to blog!
