Valentine’s Day 2018

– Gift Guide –

Who doesn’t love, love!?

I know some people are bitter about Valentine’s Day, but if you love it as much as I do, *high five*!

There is a saying that it is a made up holiday, blah, blah, blah. I don’t care. Honestly, if you ask me all holidays are made up, just gotta pick the ones you like I guess.

Anyways…

Valentine’s day is a day to show that one special person how much they mean to you. And yes, I know you can do it any time of the year, but so is having turkey and you don’t hear people complaining about having to eat turkey AGAIN on Thanksgiving every year. That special person can also be anyone. It can be your significant other, it can be your mom, a family member, or a friend.

There are many ways to show someone some love and they don’t all have to be traditional. It can be one or the other or a combination of both.

For this year’s Valentine’s Day, I compiled a combined gift guide list of both, traditional and emotional gifts to make it easy for you!

* Coupon Book

Coupon Books can be cheesy, but that’s what it’s all about on Valentine’s Day! You can buy coupon books already made and ready to go or you can make your own. Making your own shows that you put some thought into and it can be as customized as you want it to be. Here’s our Valentine’s Coupon Sheet that you can download for free and print at home!

* Personalized Item

Personalized items make great gifts because it shows that person that the gift is definitely meant for them and that planning went into it.

* Heart Shaped Anything

Valentine’s Day and Hearts go hand in hand no matter where you look. So why not gift hearted things?

* Intimates

Of course, this one is for those who plan to gift to their significant other. It not only represents ‘the hint’, but it also shows how passionate you are about them.

* Flowers

Flowers are almost a must when you are trying to show someone you love them. If you want to go big, plant a garden of flowers for them! Not only would it be super thoughtful, but they will probably last longer than a bouquet. Make sure that person has a green thumb for upkeep because if not, you might be better off with the bouquet! It’s the thought that matters!

* Chocolate Covered Fruit

Chocolate covered fruit can be both sexy and not. If you plan to give it to your significant other, strawberries to share might be the way to go. But if your plan is to give to anyone else, any variety of fruit will suit!

* A Letter

Want to give the ultimate most thoughtful gift ever? Write a letter. Let me be more specific, handwrite a letter. Write down your thoughts and why that person means so much to you. Be specific and mention special moments or dates, inside jokes and what you hope or envision your mutual future will be like.

* A Commemorative Box (things that mean something to the both of you)

This one may take some planning ahead. Ever have a special moment with someone, whether it be an outing or an experience that you wish you could relive over and over again? For example, your first movie date or concert where you kept the stub. These are the kind of things that would go inside your commemorative box. If you do not have anything for a commemorative box, start saving now for next year’s Valentine’s Day!

* Card

Sometimes a card can say what your brain can’t word together and that’s not a bad thing! You can always add a personal touch by adding a few of your own words. You can also go the DIY route and completely word and design it the way you like. Here’s a free I <3 U Pop-Up DIY Card you can download and print at home complete with instructions!

* Jewelry

This is the extravagant way to go. It is certain to last a very long time and with different pieces such as rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and the many styles, colors, finishes, stones, and materials, it is one of the most customizable gift options available.

* Photo Session or framed photo of a special day together

Professional photo sessions are great for going all out to get captured in a magical photoshopped place, which can now be anywhere where there’s a good background. You can also go the DIY route and capture it yourself. All you need is a stable surface for your camera and a good looking background. Another alternative is if you already have a special photograph, framing it would make a great gift. Now with social media and having access to your photos at your fingertips, nobody really thinks about printing them anymore. If you print and get a fancy frame, it would certainly make it a thoughtful gift. The best part is it doesn’t have to be a professional or staged photo! It can be a photo of a selfie of that one time you ate takeout because you didn’t want to cook.

* Spa Day

If you’re gifting your significant other, opt for a couples massage. If you’re gifting for someone else, you can do a gift certificate or if you’re gifting your Galentine, plan for a girls day!

Hope this list inspires you and don’t be afraid to combine gifts to make one great gesture!

      Thank you! I love personalized gifts, makes me feel like there was a bit more thought put into it as opposed to just picking whatever from the store!
