Phoenix, AZ: McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park

The weather in AZ has been surprisingly pleasant, as the norm around here this time of year is 100℉ or more! So,Β I like encouraging ourselves to go outdoors as much as possible before we do break into hell temperatures.

While Encanto Park might have a toddler wonderland, Railroad Park, on the other hand, features rides for the whole family!

Located in Scottsdale at the corner of Indian Bend and Scottsdale Rd, this park offers a train for everyone to ride that goes around the park and a carousel for only $2 per person, per ride (kids 2 and under, free with adult ticket purchase). Also, there’s a stationed passenger train in which you can go into and look around, and of course, the playground! We had so much fun!

Someone was very fond of the fluffy grass!

The Model Railroad Building is a little indoor museum type of display where you can see many miniature towns and lots of model trains. There are even interactive models where you touch an orange hand and it makes things move!

There is a gift shop which is also a snack bar and a second snack bar next to the playground. The food prices are relatively and surprisingly in a reasonable range!

On Sunday nights, you can even enjoy free summer concerts! For more info click here.

The Railroad Park is so much fun and different than your down the block neighborhood park, and definitely worth the trip!
