DIY: Spring Wreath for as little as $11!

I love spring! Don’t you?

Spring is my favorite season because the weather is breezy, cool, but not cold and warm, but not hot, it’s just perfect!

Now that we are in SC, I’m looking forward to our first Spring here because now that we have our own home, I can DIY all kinds of things and horde them for repeated use. Hahaha.

Living in the south-east has taught me that people love wreaths for every occasion. Which I so happen to love! πŸ˜€ What I don’t love is that they are super pricey the bigger they get.

So of course, now I have to make my own because while I do not want to spend $50+ on a seasonal wreath, I do want to have one!

I took a trip to Michael’s to see their flower selection as well as their pricing. Not quite in the priceΒ range I wanted, but I did find the wreath loop fairly cheap.

Next, I took a trip to Dollar Tree and checked out their floral selection. Not quite as extensive as Michael’s but it was in my price range and they had the type of flowers I wanted.

Here’s the complete list of things I purchased:

  • 3 bouquets of Peonies
  • 3 Bouquets of Carnations
  • 1 Bouquet of Baby’s Breath
  • 18in Metal Wreath Loop

This is literally the easiest DIY, it only took 3 steps to get done!

First; Cut the flower stems at the lowest point of attachment. I did not want to use extra wire, so the longer the stem, the more wrapping power I got.

Second; Decide which flowers are going where. Like when I DIY the Mantle Garland, I liked planning where the flowers would go so that I wouldn’t have to wrap and unwrap if I wanted to make changes. Also, this helps make sure you have enough.

Third; Wrap the flowers on the wreath loop!

And you are done!

Seriously, this is the easiest DIY I have ever done and I’m sure you will think so too!

The best part is I only spent $11 for everything! <- This is what keeps my DIY flame burning! lol

What kinds of flowers are your favorite? Have you or will you be making your own wreath?

I don’t do a lot of DIY either, I think I like the idea more than actually doing it! lol But sometimes you just have to!
