Fit As A Mama Bear
Meet the lively momma behind Fit As A Mama Bear and what thatβs all about!
- Firstly, please tell us about yourself!
My name is Shelby and by trade, I am a Certified Strength Coach but currently, my focus has been on my website Fitasamamabear.com which focuses on fitness and healthy living geared towards mamas! I’m located in Ontario Canada.
- What is Fit As A Mama Bear all about?
Fit As A Mama Bear was designed to help moms stay fit and active and boost their health.
I find that many of us struggle with fitness because we’re just not sure what to do. And truthfully, there are SO MANY different kinds of workouts. On the blog, I share tips as well as different types of workouts geared towards a busy mom with little kids.
I am a health nut & foodie so I also enjoy creating and sharing healthy recipes so moms have something new to try! I love writing about different methods with both food and parenting I use with my daughter in hopes of giving other moms new ideas. We’re all just trying to do our best π
- What inspired you to start Fit As A Mama Bear?
I love sharing! Seriously, though, it was my client’s idea to start the blog because I often find I just have so much to chat about! I love helping others become more healthy in both big ways or little ones and believe that every small step counts.
I started Fit As A Mama Bear in the hopes of motivating mamas to be active and sharing my knowledge as a coach.
- What type of articles does Fit As A Mama Bear focus on?
I focus mainly on fitness posts as they’re my favorite to write. They’re geared towards helping moms stay active while busy. You can check them out here!
I also have categories in parenting, healthy eating, and DIY. I’m definitely a more natural mama (I actually make a lot of our household products!) so it’s fun to share my experiences (and fails) on that front.
And lastly, I have a category on my website dedicated to recipes. I’m in the kitchen a lot and I love sharing healthy meals ideas!
— Note from Mama Bear Shelby!
When it comes to my workouts I personally love lifting heavy things..but that’s not for everyone! My advice to all mamas is to find a workout/activity style that works FOR YOU and to really enjoy it. 10 minutes workouts or sixty-minute ones they all matter so never be scared to take the step forward.
