New Year’s Resolutions: 2019 Edition

2018 is (practically) over.

2018 came and went in the blink of an eye and I’m not sure how I feel about it.

My resolutions for 2018 were fulfilled about 58 percent. Which is better than any of my previous years. I had 3 simple resolutions. Work out, complete house projects, and posting more consistently on this blog.

Well, I did not work out, so there goes one resolution out the window.

We did manage to complete some house projects. Completing all house projects in one year is absolutely not even an expectation, so for what was completed, I call it a win!

And I most definitely posted consistently (about once a week), with the exception of one or two missed days and a third of December.

If you want to see why I didn’t post in most of December, check out ‘When Blogging Burns You Out’.

While 58% might not seem like a great number, just think. Many people have ‘workout’, ‘lose weight’, or some sort of physical wellness resolution that gets abandoned within the first month. And that was their only resolution. So 1 ¾ out of 3 completed is not that bad! Hahaha.

For 2019 I have 4 resolutions.

First, I will dedicate as much time as possible with my little ones. What exactly does this mean?

It means I will spend more time helping them learn and play. I will put in more time teaching my littles some Spanish and how to write the ABC’s and I will put in the effort to find mom friends for playdates (because as an introvert, it really is a challenge).

Second, I would like to complete more house projects! While I don’t want to be too ambitious in trying to tackle big projects, I think we can get some of the smaller projects done.

Third, husband and I have agreed that we need less screen time. While I think this will be the hardest thing to do because Facebook, Instagram, and not to forget that Netflix and Hulu are just available whenever we think it’s something that has to be done and having restraint is a great virtue! Haha.

Lastly, I want to reduce our debt ratio. While having lived in our home for over a year, we have yet to bounce back from the moving expenses (and adjacent). This means we will have to go over our budget and expenses and really commit to getting it done. While I don’t expect to completely pay off all our debt, I do plan to make a big dent!

No matter what the resolution, we hope you have a fabulous 2019 and make the most of it!
